On the Aug. 30 episode of Bachelor in Paradise, viewers were just as stunned as the Season 7 contestants to discover that the newest members of the cast are Chris Conran—who described himself as being “on Clare’s season [of The Bachelorette], barely”—and his fellow “smoke bro,” Chasen Nick. As the two declared before heading down to the beach, “We’re two smoke bros looking for some smokeshows.” (A “smokeshow,” FYI, is apparently what a smoke bro calls a hot girl.) The two also made their romantic intentions super-clear from the start: to steal some other dude’s fire by stealing their, um, smoke. As Chris C. declared, “I would love nothing more than to see Jessenia down there. I’m 100% gonna scoop her up.” Of course, Chris C.’s insistence that he’d be able to steal JesseniaCruz away came just moments after Jessenia’s current connection, Ivan Hall, insisted that they were the beach’s most rock-solid couple and that she would deepen her commitment to him in an instant if he asked. Keep reading to find out all about new Bachelor in Paradise Season 7 contestants Chris Conran and Chasen Nick.
Who is Chris Conran on Bachelor in Paradise?
“If you’re not having fun, you’re not living,” this 28-year-old Bachelorette Season 16 contestant, from Salt Lake City, Utah, says on his Instagram profile. He was eliminated from that season of The Bachelorette in Week 1 by Clare Crawley. According to his Bachelorette bio, “Chris works in landscaping… After his last serious relationship ended in heartbreak, Chris was unsure if he was meant for true love. It took some time to pick up the pieces, but now Chris says he has his groove back. Chris hopes to find a woman who is sharp and witty but also easygoing. She also must love to travel because Chris’ goal in life is to travel to 200 countries, and he currently has 180 to go before meeting his target. When asked to describe himself as a lover, Chris says, ‘I like to think I’m good at what I do.’ This is good to hear because, one day, Chris hopes to have three or four kids so he has a good reason to rock a minivan. Will Clare be ready to join him in the mini as he reaches for his goals? Only time will tell.” It seems that even if Chris doesn’t make a love connection on the beach, he may at least leave with new lifelong friends. During his all-too-brief Bachelorette tenure, he managed to build a friendship with Chasen, but also with another BiP Season 7 dude: NoahErb. Chris hasn’t been shy about shouting out his bromance with Chasen. Earlier this year, he captioned a post of the two of them by writing, “Might have lasted only a single night, but built relationships to last a lifetime.” Plus, Chris counts former BacheloretteKatie Thurston among his Bachelor Nation buddies. Back in May 2021, he bragged about her on his Instagram, calling her “America’s sweetheart” while insisting there’s “noting fake about her” and that they became “instant friends.”
Who is Chasen Nick on Bachelor in Paradise?
Another Bachelorette Season 16 contestant who vied for Clare’s heart, and then Tayshia Adams’ heart (and got sent home in Week 6), Chasen is a 33-year-old from San Diego who “grew up in the world of competitive swimming,” according to his official show bio. “The ultimate romantic, Chasen says he has never been close to getting married but hopes to one day have a long and happy marriage similar to that of his parents who have been together for 35 years,” the bio also states. “After ending a two-year toxic relationship with his co-worker, Chasen says he is finally in the right headspace to find his future bride. Chasen’s dream girl is the perfect combination of beauty and brains. He loves women who take pride in staying fit and can carry on a meaningful conversation without any awkward silences. Chasen considers himself to be very romantic and loves making his significant other feel special. He says there is no better feeling than seeing your partner smile and knowing the reason is because of you. He is a self-proclaimed adventure seeker and loves to say yes to things other people might consider insane. His latest insane adventure? You’re looking at it!” Some Chasen fun facts, according to his bio: “Chasen’s nickname is ‘Wolverine’ because, according to his friends, he recovers and heals quickly. Chasen can’t wait to get a goldendoodle puppy one day. Chasen once swam from San Francisco [the area he’s originally from] to Alcatraz wearing only a pink Speedo.” After Tayshia sent him home from Bachelorette, Chasen said in a TV interview, “I have to be completely honest, I’d say [I had more of a connection with] Clare. I didn’t really get the opportunity to progress with Tayshia and it was just a surface-level connection getting to know each other." Chasen hinted a couple days before his first Bachelor in Paradise appearance that he and his fellow smoke bro—or “Tweedledee and Tweedledum,” as another contestant described them—would reunite, posting pics of them on Instagram.
What does Chasen Nick do?
Chasen is an account exec for an IT company called Apex Systems in San Diego. He’s reportedly been with the company for eight years and has been promoted there at least twice.
Where did Chasen Nick go to college?
Chasen not only attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo; he was also a competitive swimmer at the NCAA Division I school.
Who is Chasen Nick dating?
Chasen was “chasin’” Deandra Kanu hard in his first BiP Season 7 appearance. He took her on a date, then practically stalked her and KarlSmith (who she’d connected with at the start of Season 7) after Karl stole her away for a few minutes in attempt to reconfirm their commitment to one another (and give her a bracelet). Karl aptly dubbed Chasen’s antics “cheesin’” and BiP fans appreciated the wordplay. On the Aug. 31 episode, Chasen upped the ante by giving Deandra a huge necklace to try to win her heart—a move that some viewers found, well, cheesin’. But shockingly, Chasen’s antics with Deandra backfired and he wound up without a flower at the end of his first rose ceremony. Perhaps even more shockingly, Chasen’s nemesis, Karl, also got sent home after Deandra decided to give her rose to Ivan Hall, telling him he deserved to stay on the beach. As for Chris C., he’s still on the beach as he got the rose he was angling for from Jessenia Cruz, who he stole from Ivan.
