Speaking exclusively with Vogue about the new venture, Pitt explained that it was greatly inspired by the Château Miraval winery in the south of France that he bought with his ex-wife, Angelina Jolie, in the early 2010s. She is still a really dear friend, and she has built this empire…In fact, come to think about it, she was probably the first one who got me to even wash my face twice a day… maybe.” He’s also put a focus on the environment with the new line. One central pillar of La Domaine is that it is green and sustainable, both in the packaging and the product itself. The company’s official website declares, “We carefully chose our ingredients and have established a very strict blacklist excluding ingredients that are subject to controversy regarding the environment or the natural balance of the body.” For example, the products have no silicones, no microplastics, and nothing “animal or of animal origin.” The products vary in price from $80 to $385, and include items like “The Serum” and “The Cleansing Emulsion.” La Domaine also uses two patented ingredients, GSM10 and ProGR3, which the website states are based on a decade of research from Professor Pierre-Louis Teissedre.
