Writer and director Adam McKayrevealed that once he was able to cast Meryl Streepas President Jamie Orlean, it was relatively easy to get other major movie stars (like Captain America himself!) to sign on to the disaster film. “I just never imagined she would say yes, once you get Meryl Streep, everyone else is more likely to be interested,” McKay told Deadline. “We got great reads on the script from a lot of actors who said they’d been waiting for a project like this, with how crazy the world has been.
