“There’re not many clues, and you’re going to be blown away by how close people get guessing from what they find,” McHale told reporters at a junket for the new FOX baking show. “And then, you’ll be blown away by some of the absolute wrong turns that people take." And now, the winners of Season 1 have been revealed: Natalie Collins-Fish and Luis Flores from Las Vegas were crowned as the champions of Season 1 and awarded the $100,000 prize! “If we win this competition, our dream could come true,” Luis said just before the announcement. Their dream? To open up a bakery in Las Vegas. And Natalie added, “I will always be my own boss. That is huge, knowing I can always be a part of my son’s life.” The final challenge on Crime Scene Kitchen was to bake a birthday cake for Yolanda, and Natalie and Luis bested the other baking teams to earn the win. “I’ve never won anything like this before,” Luis said. “If my family never came over to the states, this never would have happened.” “We’re going to be able to open our own bakery,” Natalie said. “We’re going to be able to give back to our families and just make our lives better.” Crime Scene Kitchen features two sets of bakers, six teams in Group A and six teams in Group B, who were selected from all parts of the country. “These bakers, some of them are very well trained–they have formal training. And then, some of them are self-taught. And you’ll be so surprised at how far the self‑taughts get and how not that far some of the trained ones get,” McHale said. “Bringing in the crime scene [element] really levels the playing field in such an interesting way.” Crime Scene Kitchen will premiere Wednesday, May 26 on FOX. Until then, meet the teams competing in the kitchen for the first season.
