Banks, who you’ve seen in everything from Wet Hot American Summer to The Hunger Games trilogy, dedicated an Instagram post to Ferguson and their deep friendship. The actress posted a bunch of photos spanning many years, including one that looks like it’s from when they were in their early-to-mid-20s, as well as a short clip of when Banks guest-starred in Modern Family as the character Sal. The caption on the post reads, “Over 20 years of friendship with this one! Here’s to 20 more. Happy Birthday @jessetyler!” In response, Ferguson commented on the update, “Love you SOY much!” Ferguson’s husband, Justin Mikita, also commented, “Omggggg,” likely loving the old photos of the actors. Fans thought the tribute to Ferguson was sweet, adoring his and Banks’ friendship in the comments. One person referenced the actors’ time together on the hit comedy Modern Family, commenting, “I need a Sal & Mitchell spin off STAT!” Another wrote, “I had no idea you guys were friends lol I love it!!!!!” Many more comments included more birthday wishes for Ferguson. Banks previously told the publication Advocate how the two actors first became friends, saying, “We met about 12 years ago on a movie called Ordinary Sinner, an extremely low-budget indie. What’s funny is that [in it] Jesse played a homophobic religious fanatic. He really had to bring out his acting chops for that one.” While she told the interviewer that the film was “not worth seeing,” Banks is thankful that it connected her with Ferguson. Elaborating on their friendship, the actress said, “Jesse is a very good old friend of mine, which is how I wound up on Modern Family in the first place. We try to do dinner and have wine together as much as we can.” More News:
