The show was filmed in Goodwood, a tiny hamlet in Ontario, Canada, outside Toronto. The town became a tourist attraction during the pandemic, so much so that Dan felt a need to speak out on Twitter about keeping the locals safe amid the coronavirus. But in terms of where in the world Schitt’s Creek is located in the show, the jury is still out. “We don’t know. There is no location for it,” co-creator and star Eugene Levy told Stephen Colbert in January, 2018. “There is no setting. There is no country. It is what it is.”

How did Season 5 end?
The fifth season wrapped with a musical number and a proposal, so you could say it was simply perfect. But more specifically…
Patrick and David Rose
Patrick popped the question to David during a mountainside picnic, and spoiler alert he said yes…after asking if the rings were “24-karat,” of course. Unable to keep the engagement under wraps until after his mom’s production of Cabaret, David shared the exciting news with Stevie. However, Stevie goes missing prior to the show and he his forced to tell Moira about the proposal and pretty soon everyone else in town finds out before he was able to announce it the way he originally planned. At the motel after-party, David tells his friends and family, “I met someone who changed my life, and I don’t know where I’d be without him, so yes, as well all now know, Patrick and I are engaged.”
Stevie Budd
Stevie is left heartbroken after travel blogger Emir tells her he doesn’t see a real relationship working out for them. To help Stevie realize that beneath her “brambly tartan blouson is a chrysalis just bursting with potential,” Moira casts her as the lead in Cabaret. Before wowing Schitt’s Creek as Sally Bowles, Stevie admits to Moira that she feels like everyone is “growing up around” her.
Alexis Rose
Ted invites Alexis to accompany him to the Galápagos Islands for a six-month research program that he was selected for. Though hesitant at first, Alexis agrees to go to support him “wherever the turtles are” and “eat, pray, love a bit” for herself. However, Moira threw a curveball Alexis’ way in the finale by deciding to hire her daughter to handle all of her publicity.
Moira and Johnny Rose
Johnny’s hard work to improve the Rosebud Motel paid off in episode 8 when he and Stevie take home the award at the Regional Hospitality Awards. The finale ended with Moira’s movie, The Crows Have Eyes III: TheCrowening, being shelved. The former soap opera star crawls into her closet weeping during the Cabaret after-party.
What happened in Schitt’s Creek Season 6?

The Rose kids also have their hands full. After getting engaged in Season 5, David is busy planning his wedding to Patrick, however the pair clash over their visions of their future together. On the other hand, Alexis’ career is taking off while her boyfriend Ted is in the Galápagos. “At the end of the day, all people want out of a series finale is just a really f—ing great episode of your show,” Dan Levy said at a 2019 discussion moderated by NPR’s Sam Sanders (via Variety). “A simple conclusion to a story is just as impactful as taking your characters on this weird 180 to just try and do something exciting.” Dan previously told Entertainment Weekly that he feels confident that seasons 5 and 6 “really mined everything.” He added, “But the world doesn’t explode at the end of it. If there is something that comes up down the line that feels compelling enough to bring our troupe back together and continue to tell a story, so be it. I’m not one to lay down the iron fist and say, ‘This is it forever.’ This is just it for now.”
How many episodes are in Season 6?
